Glarg And Fritz Behind The Scenes - Stop Motion Puppet and Set Creation
These pictures illustrate the long, intricate, and beautiful process of how the idea on paper becomes realized in the 3rd dimension. Characters were sculpted in clay, then cast in plaster. After wire armatures were constructed, they were cast in the molds with foam latex. After application of paint and addition of painted sculpey heads, we have fully posable puppets. Many props used in the film were constructed by friends at the Prop Party, and a good time was had by all. Derik Bibb showed his ninja skills with the powersaw and drill, and a set was born. Every single thing on the set was hand-painted by Art Director Caitlin Miller. --Joey
